What I stand for…

We are a growing community, not just a tourism destination. A balance between our local economy and community needs is possible if we vote for leaders with diverse lived experiences who will speak for everyone who lives here.

Prioritizing economic practices that support long-term affordability for residents through long-term sustainable planning of projects related to housing, waste management and energy.
Active participation and inclusive decision-making within the community is key. Ensuring we are engaging youth, new comers, families, seniors, as well as marginalized voices is an important part of building a strong community.
Strengthening social services in Wasaga Beach through regional and provincial partnerships. (Addressing access to childcare, doctors and issues related to poverty, housing, food insecurity, mental health and addictions.)
Ensuring all municipal processes and decisions are open, accountable, and understood by the public.

A Letter to Voters,

I am so excited for the opportunity to run for Town Council in Wasaga Beach in the 2026 municipal election.

We live in a beautiful community filled with caring people who share a common goal: to help Wasaga Beach grow in a thoughtful, sustainable way.

I moved here eight years ago to be closer to family and enjoy everything this community has to offer. We spend our time walking Blueberry Trails, biking to the beach, and exploring the shores of Georgian Bay. I care deeply about this community, which is why I volunteered on one of the Town's advisory committees, helping bring residents' perspectives to Council on issues related to healthy living, the environment, and the future of our community. It gave me valuable insight into how municipal government works and what can be achieved through thoughtful leadership and collaboration.

My professional background is in education, where I continue to work with students and families. I became a teacher because I wanted to build meaningful relationships and be a trusted adult for young people who were too often falling through the cracks. Over the years, that work has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges many families face and has taught me the importance of listening carefully, considering different perspectives, and advocating for people when it matters most. Those are the same values I would bring to Town Council because I still believe one person can make a difference.

With so many changes taking place in our community, I believe this is the right time to step forward and serve in this way. I want to be a strong voice for the people who call Wasaga Beach home and help protect the natural spaces that make our town so special.

As your councillor, I will approach every decision with transparency, accountability, and thoughtful consideration. I believe good leadership means listening to diverse perspectives, asking thoughtful questions, and making decisions that reflect the best interests of our entire community. That is the commitment I will bring to Town Council.

Working for the town we love…

Municipalities are responsible for zoning and planning, which means Town Council has an important role to play in addressing our housing challenges.
Right now, there seems to be a number of incomplete developments while new ones continue to be proposed, despite residents raising concerns about affordability and environmental impacts. I believe there are many creative ways we can help ensure people have safe, secure housing, but we need to be building communities around the needs of residents—not just the priorities of developers.
I believe we can take a more thoughtful approach to housing by working together and planning for the future.
That includes:
- Working with Simcoe County, local housing organizations, developers, and other levels of government to create more affordable housing opportunities in Wasaga Beach.
- Supporting a wider range of housing options, including homes for first-time buyers, seniors looking to downsize, and families who want to stay in our community.
- Looking at creative ways to use Town-owned land to support future affordable housing projects where appropriate.
- Ensuring new developments are planned responsibly, with affordability, environmental stewardship, and long-term community needs at the forefront.
- Supporting growth that strengthens our community while protecting the natural spaces that make Wasaga Beach such a wonderful place to call home.

The Housing Crisis

As Wasaga Beach continues to grow, so do the needs of our community. Access to family doctors continues to be a challenge, affordable childcare is difficult to find, and rising costs are putting more pressure on families and local food banks.
Many of these services are delivered through Simcoe County and community organizations, but that does not mean the Town Council doesn't have a role to play. I believe we should be building stronger partnerships, advocating for our residents, and making sure people know where to turn when they need support.
I believe a strong community is one where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, and I want Wasaga Beach to be that kind of community.
That includes:
- Continuing to advocate for better access to family doctors and primary healthcare.
- Supporting efforts to expand affordable childcare and early learning opportunities for local families.
- Working with Simcoe County, local food banks, and organizations already serving our community to help address food insecurity, poverty, and housing-related challenges.
- Supporting organizations like the Local Immigration Partnership to help newcomers feel welcomed, connected, and able to build successful lives in Wasaga Beach.
- Creating more opportunities for youth to have a voice through advisory committees, volunteer opportunities, and community engagement.
- Continuing to build a community where everyone feels safe, welcomed, included, and heard.

Innovative Economic Growth

There is a lot of focus on Beach One right now. I care deeply about our environment because we live among unique ecosystems and endangered habitats. The land we live on must be protected.
Tourism will always be an important part of Wasaga Beach, but I believe there are other ways to grow our town without impacting the natural spaces that make our community so special. I think we can look to the future by building a stronger, more sustainable, year-round economy, rather than relying on tourism alone.
I think Wasaga Beach has the opportunity to become a leader in innovative, sustainable economic growth.
That includes:
- Supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs so more jobs, investment, and opportunities stay within our community.
- Encouraging development that protects our beaches, sand dunes, forests, and shoreline while strengthening our local economy.
- Exploring innovative ways to improve municipal services and identify opportunities that could reduce long-term costs for residents.
- Supporting businesses and ideas that improve quality of life and strengthen our community.
- Growing our economy in ways that balance tourism with new opportunities so Wasaga Beach remains a vibrant community all year long.

Transparent & Accountable Council

People deserve to have confidence in their local government. Politics (and local government in particular) shouldn't give residents "the ick."
Serving on the Town Council is a serious responsibility. Every decision should be approached with curiosity, thoughtful research, meaningful debate, and a clear explanation for why it was made. Residents deserve to understand how decisions are made, and they deserve to know their voices are being heard.
Our municipal government exists to represent the people of Wasaga Beach and their interests, and it’s a responsibility I won’t take lightly.
If elected, I will approach every decision with integrity, curiosity, and a deep sense of responsibility. My job isn't to push a personal agenda, it's to represent the people who have entrusted me with their vote.
That means I will:
- Listen first by creating meaningful opportunities for residents to share their ideas, concerns, and experiences.
- Ask thoughtful questions, gather information, consider different perspectives, and make informed decisions based on evidence.
- Clearly communicate how and why decisions are made while remaining open to feedback from the community.
- Continually ask whose voices are being heard, whose are missing, and how decisions will affect residents from all walks of life.
- Stay accountable by making decisions that are thoughtful, transparent, and always focused on the best interests of our community.
